Enexis: Earthquake-proof redesign without delay

VORM4 participated in the construction and revitalization of the Enexis building in Kolham. We identified structural risks without original production drawings and integrated earthquake loads directly into the model. Thanks to our approach, the design could be realized safely, efficiently and without delay.

Construction without original drawings

Important production drawings were missing during the revitalization of the existing building, and the reinforcement at critical construction points was unknown. There was also hardly any overcapacity in the existing structure, while architectural and installation requirements were increasing. At the same time, earthquake resistance was required. The customer was looking for a safe, future-proof design that could integrate all these obstacles without delay or major demolition.

Oplossing

Smart scan analysis & integrated design

VORM4 carried out detailed scan analyses and drilling to identify hidden reinforcement. The entire design was linked to an analytical model that also calculated earthquake loads. With this approach, we were able to design integral, safe solutions with minimal impact on the existing building and maximum feasibility for the contractor. Our output was so complete that the contractor could start working with it immediately.
